Urinary Health: Herbal Home Remedies

Robert McDowell, herbalist, makes the following suggestions for using herbs and herb tisanes for remedying urinary tract infections:
I strongly advise any parents to ensure their children grow up with healthy drinking habits and all adults that plain water should form the largest part of your daily fluid intake. Further, that there are a wide range of herbal teas (beyond regular tea and coffee) which contribute to kidney health rather than detract from it as do tea and coffee. The best of these herb teas is Rosehip Tea which on its own will often reverse even severe kidney problems.

The herbal mix I have made up to deal with urinary tract infections and which is a very safe and simple home remedy to be taken (along with copious amounts of water and/ or Rosehip Tea) at the first signs of any UTI, contains the herbs:- Alfalfa, Buchu, Dandelion, Echinacaea, Garlic, Rosehips, Uva Ursi and Yarrow along with the Bach Flowers Rescue Remedy and Wild Rose.
Most dialysis patients start off as persons ineffectively treated for urinary tract infections which are so simple to treat herbally that it is an absolute crime that Urologists are not trained to utilize traditional knowledge as an initial treatment approach.
